The translation of William Whiston is the most often reprinted and therefore the most often quoted. It is frequently found in thousand-page double-column editions by otherwise unknown publishers, doubtless peddled by canvassing agents, and can still be had in that form today. The copies here are chosen for their excellent scans.
Complete Works of Josephus. A new and revised edition based on Havercamp’s translation, with notes, comments and references from Whiston, &c. New York: Bigelow, Brown & Co., [no date; about 1900]. —This is the translation usually called Whiston’s; the ascription to Havercamp seems to be a mistake of the publisher. Sigebertus or Sijvert or Siwart or Syvert Havercamp edited the edition of the Greek text on which Whiston’s translation was based. These volumes have good legible single-column text.
